The revolution will be televised: A new film explains how Egypt found its voice
Today, many of the social movements that laid the groundwork for the Egyptian revolution are calling for a second revolution. This Twitter announcement of 22 May from journalist Reem Abdellatif encapsulates the call: “Next Friday, #May27 #Egyptians plan not to leave #Tahrir or any other square in #Egypt until ALL of the revolution’s demands are met.”

Do you think David Cameron is going to ruin the UK?

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

1st of all i’ll like to talk about Job cuts.

He says he is going to cut 500000 jobs, At the moment its hard enough getting a job, i have unemployed for 18 months and before that i have worked all my life and never had a problem getting jobs, but 18 months ago the company i was working for went bankrupt. Since then i have applied for tonnes of jobs and only managed to get 6 job interviews in that time. With 500000 people being made redundant it will make it harder for the unemployed to get jobs.

2nd I’ll like to talk about increase in vat in january
The economy is unstable at the moment, prices are high for e.g food, clothes, utility bills, etc. All companies will be passing the vat rises on to the consumer which will lead to people buying less because of high costs. this is not good for our economy if people will be spending less.

It was the wan-ker bankers fault in the 1st place so i don’t understand why a country with over 60million people should have to pay for the fault of few bankers

it should the bankers who pay back the money and not the taxpayers………………. & David Cameron is not helping the economy. He says as a nation “where in this together” the only thing he is together with is the bankers who have gotten away with it for the second time in less the 90 years. I do not trust politicians especially David Cameron.

What countries/Unions do you think will be the next major superpowers?

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

I personally think it is between the USA, EU, and Japan; while Russia is taking the role of dying superpower that the UK is in. I also see Canada and Australia rising, but I see the economic activity too influenced by the USA to really have independent economies.
I see China too divided to become a major player in the world role. I think that many baby Chinas will be born, like Taiwan, and Tibet might be the next.
I think China is too divided to become a superpower soon.

Do you think that world leaders that desire ultimate power in economy are provoking all of us?

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011

Christianity is divided into many sects with disparities in belief-the same is true of Islam. The ferverent fire that is inflamed in the heart of either good person, [Muslim or Christian] who only knows the faith in God that is precious to him; when someone berates or defames his belief he erupts, out of control if he is a simple man, as most of us are. Do you think this devotion is being used to cause the divisions in the Islamic world to escalate and to then be focused together as one making the Christians the target the satan, the powers telling the people that “the christians are the reason the devil seeking to divide us” and in that way the Iranian, Iraqi, muslims all over will have a “common” cause enemy? See? make it a religious need, when in fact it is POWER. Do you think the leaders of America, UK, Canada and the other leaders of the west as well as the leaders of the Islamic world all fighting for economic supremacy, promote deceptions as means to keep us angry and pawns?

Do you think the European Union is a farce?

Sunday, March 27th, 2011

The UK right or wrong tries to spend its way out of recession. Other EU member states decide to tackle the recession by trimming budgets eg France President Sarcozy even critising the UK government for increasing spendind and national debt. A new nuclear power plant is to be built by Spanish workers. Upgrading work on a main A9 is also to be undertaken by Irish workers but is to be paid for out of the UK purse. Surely on this basis money spent to stimulate the UK economy on building projects should use UK workers. There seems to be an imbalance in the way things are done in the EU whereby say a French worker can get work in another EU country while his own countries government is not spending..
Freeman thanks for your answer but did you read the whole question. What im asking – is it fair that the UK as part of the EU should spend money creating jobs for citizens of other EU states. Thats all.

How do you think it’s going to affect USA, Europe and the whole world when China surpasses US in economy?

Monday, February 14th, 2011

China already surpassed UK in 2005 and Germany in 2007. It has been estimated that China will overtake US by 2020. By 2030, China will already have TWICE as large economy compared to US. Also, India will surpass Japan to become the third largest economy. How do you think the world will be like when all this happens?
Imagine this: three of the five largest economies in the world will be Asian economies, including nr.1 spot. The European Union will probably go between China and US for a “2.place”(it’s not a country but it’s still a common economy)
When China becomes wealthier and wealthier what if they’ll start spending more money on their military? They’re using 2% of their GDP now compared to US using 4% of its GDP. What if China decides to double the spending to 4%? In 2020 when it’s the wealthiest nation?

Do you think “The Nordic Model” a feasible economic model in the UK?

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

For those of you who don’t know what the Nordic Model is (for one, i’d recommend looking it up on Wiki), to put it simply, a Socio-Economic model characterised by high taxes, economic- interventionism, a generous Welfare State, and Libertarian social policies, as practiced by the Nordic countries, and the Netherlands.
The benefits of this system is obvious; more social-equality, better public services, and more individual freedoms (or at least better-protected ones). Of course, all the Nordic Model following countries have something in common, they have small economies (<800 million USD GDP), and small populations (<16.5 million) ,so i was wondering if the UK, with a population of 62 million, and a GDP of 2,178,856 million USD, could practice a model along these lines without too-much cost to the economy?

*All comparisons made (e.g. “high taxes”) are made in comparison to other developed OECD members.
