With all the troubles with the economy people are doing whatever they can to get by. They are taking on second jobs or just odd jobs to get extra cash to spend. I read that many companies are now hiring mystery shoppers to basically rate and evaluate their customer service and how well they perform their job. There are actually hundreds of restaurants,stores, and different organizations that are actively seeking individuals in the UK to rate their services.
I traveled there last year and stayed with an old friend to catch up on things. We walked around and she had a small briefcase. While we were checking out the different sites she would take me into different stores and discreetly observe how the customers were being treated and if all of their needs were tended to. In every store she would make a purchase and watch how the cashier would handle the transaction and see how respectful she was. After she would make her observation she would document what she seen and what was purchased and file it away in her briefcase.
Out of all the jobs I had I could not believe that you could get paid to observe companies and make purchases. She told me that all the money she spends on products she gets reimbursed to her after she submits her report. The time we were roaming around she purchased a few snacks,two shirts,shoes,makeup,and a curling iron. Her getting all that stuff for free was just crazy considering she was getting paid to do it. She said that all Uk Mystery Shopper Jobs are like this and they actively need more people.
After all the shopping was done and we finished walking around. She took me to this really classy restaurant. It had elegant music playing and the waiters were extremely polite. After we are seated I take a look at the menu and notice that almost everything is priced at £75.00 or higher. I told my friend that we did not need to eat out at such a high priced place just to catch up. She had a big grin and told me we did not have to pay for a thing since she was reviewing this restaurant.
I was not one to argue over a free meal so I ordered lobster and she ordered the same. After chatting and a few drinks later we received the bill. It was over £200.00 and she paid it without caring. After she paid we walked outside and she quickly filled out the secret shopper form and filed it away. A few days after we did it again when she received a new list of places to shop. She then started purchasing things but was nice enough to buy things for me this time. After the day was finished I had a new pair of really nice shoes,a light coat,and a few designer hats. I did not know that Uk Mystery Shopper Jobs were this cool! I had an incredible time and would love to do it all again.
