Why are we putting our vital infrastructure under the control of the fascist international financial elite?

Saturday, April 9th, 2011

The British privatized most of their infrastructure, and now the UK economy is a burst bubble; a hollowed-out shell with no productive capability, confined to using MI6 to manipulate the political process in other countries, so as to orchestrate bailouts of their broken financial system (which is also much of the world’s system).

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/27/business/27fund.html

WHY ARE WE HANDING OVER OUR COUNTRY TO FASCIST FINANCIAL PARASITES PIECE BY PIECE?! Are the sheep just going to sit back and watch American Idol until these traitorous thieves have taken the clothes off their backs?! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY?!?!
Red,

You are 100% DEAD WRONG. Obama is proposing INVESTING IN INFRASTRUCTURE. It’s the neo-liberals (Thatcherites, American conservatives, fascists, etc.) who are driving this.
Comrade Otto raises another good point – almost without exception, privatization is done without even CONSIDERING if the private sector can provide the service more efficiently.

“Mann International”– International Economics-(More UK QE Certain)

“Mann International”: Any lingering hopes that the United Kingdom would be in a position to withdraw from its program of quantitative easing were dashed after data released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed that Europe’s second largest economy remained mired in recession for the sixth straight quarter.

Broad consensus among economists had expected the UK’s beleaguered economy to emerge from its recession with modest growth of 0.2% but the ONS figures showed that GDP had actually contracted by -0.4%. The foreign exchange markets immediately rounded on sterling which plunged to as low as $1.6384 against the US dollar.

Analysts at “Mann International” said that the news came as no surprise to the Asian-based investment boutique which has remained skeptical of speculation that the UK could feasibly withdraw its bond purchase scheme at the next meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee in November.

A source close to “Mann International” said the firm felt that economists needed to come to terms with the fact that nations such as the UK and the US with their deeply indebted consumers could not “tinker” their way out of recession by simply throwing money at economy. The source added that consumers would only start spending again when they were “good and ready”.

As the data sunk in, the “Mann International” source suggested that sterling faced challenging times ahead on the foreign exchange markets as traders took the disappointing figures as a signal that the BoE would increase QE and further devalue the currency.

“Mann International”: The price of crude oil at $80 a barrel may impede the fragile global economic recovery.

“Mann International” are thought to believe that $80 a barrel crude oil is fairly priced given the plunging value of the US dollar in which its price is denominated.

The Asian-based boutique brokerage’s analysts reason that oil producing nations have every right to expect a fair price for their product and, if the dollar’s purchasing power continues to fall, the price could reach $100 before the end of 2009.

Commentators have expressed mounting concern that the rising price of oil could increase inflationary pressures in economies with weakening currencies at a time when their fragile recoveries can least afford to raise interest rates to combat rising prices.

The United States has seen its currency pounded on the foreign exchange markets as investors grow jittery about the outlook for inflation in what is the world’s largest economy and still largest importer of crude oil.

“Mann International” is confident of the fundamentals for oil as Asian economies continue to recover from the global slowdown more quickly than their Western counterparts. The US currency has fallen consistently against those of its six most active trading partners as investor concerns mount that the US government is locked into its zero interest rate policy.

“Mann International” analysts suggest that the Obama administration and the Federal Reserve are in a catch 22 situation in being unable to raise interest rates while workers lose jobs and housing data continues to confound economists.

It is widely believed that the Fed will keep interest rates at their current low level until jobs are being created faster than they are being lost but “Mann International” feels that a sudden surge in inflation may see pressure increase on the Fed to raise rates.

What is the best first time credit card for international travel?

Sunday, February 6th, 2011

Hi,
I am 19, a college student, and am going to Israel for 10 days this summer and I was thinking about getting a credit card for the trip. This will be my first credit card and I intend to pay the bill off after the trip is over. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good first time credit card for international travel. Thanks

How much does it cost to change a round-trip, restricted economy, international flight ticket?

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

I need to know how much it will cost to change my economy restricted round-trip ticket through American Airlines because I might not get the results of my UK visa back in time, and my boyfriend’s dad, who is paying for the rather expensive ticket, will be mad if the money is wasted. It is a long-distance relationship and so it’s not often I can see my boyfriend in person, and while my boyfriend said I can still come if I don’t make it on this date, I know that him and his family will be rather upset if I miss this flight because I’m trying to get there for his sister’s 18th birthday. My flight is scheduled for 20th November, which gets me in England on the 21st, and his sister’s birthday is the 23rd.

The reason it’s so late is because I procrastinated a great deal and for some reason I just couldn’t find the inspiration I needed to get the application sent in earlier…That’s why my boyfriend and his family will be mad, is because they know I’m a heavy procrastinator and I’ve already procrastinated in this whole visa thing…

So really I guess I’m asking a couple of questions..

1. how much will it cost to change the ticket, just in case?

2. anyone with experience in UK visas: ***VISA APPLICATION IN PROCESS

We have received your application and it has entered the assessment process.

Please be aware that we have now entered our peak travel season.

Our target processing times are as follows:

3 business days for straightforward applications.
12 business days if your application is deemed non-straightforward.
50 business days for settlement applications.

However, if your application is not processed in this timeframe we ask for your patience due our high volume of applications in this season.***

Does this mean that it will take up to 3 days to process, or does this mean that they will be able to send my results in the mail within 3 days?

They said on a UK visa site that it takes 24 hours to process a non-settlement visa, which is what I applied for. So, can I count on hearing back from them early next week?

3. If it turns out that my world is crashing in around me and I don’t get my visa on time and I don’t make it to my flight and there’s no way to change my flight…How do I confront my boyfriend about all of this?

What factors affect international money exchange rates?

Saturday, December 18th, 2010

i’m sure a lot of factors, for example how well the economy is doing, employment rate, etc. it is still baffling to me, however, because the uk sterling is worth so much more than the us dollar…almost double. on a very general level, i dont think englands economy is doing that much better than the u.s. economy, am i wrong? certainly not double in whatever formula has been contrived. someone help me out.
