I tend to pay part of my card card off through the month multiple times. Will this hurt my credit score? Should I only pay one time at the end of the month and that is it?

I want to close my husband’s credit card (with his permission) because there are random recurring payments being taken on it and we just want the payments to stop (there will be no penalty from the people withdrawing, just memberships cancelled). That’s the main reason I want to cancel, but also so we aren’t tempted to charge anything…how does it hurt your credit? For how long?
The sites that keep charging onto the card are sports sites…they have no other information but the credit card so I dont think they can send us a bill.

I was once over 90 days late on a credit card payment, about a year ago. Other than that I had a perfect credit score, it was in the high 700′s. How much did this hurt my credit score in general? About how many points does it pull you down to be 90 days late? I pay all my bills in full and on time now.

My friend just checked his credit report and it is not good (he never paid on his last credit card). He is about to get government student loans to help with his college expenses. Will this help build his credit, or will it hurt it? Will the benefit only come in when he makes payments? Would it matter if he paid it all off at once? He wants to invest in properties eventually, so he needs to get his credit shaped up quickly. Should he attempt to get another credit card and make payments? What should he do?

My husband has a Sears card that has a horrible APR. The balance was recently paid off, but with this rate, we will always owe something on it. (Like a couple bucks.) We’d rather close the account than keep paying a couples buck every month on a card he will never use again.
People have told me closing accounts hurts your credit. But how bad? And I’d really rather close it than deal with the hassle of it.
