When the “Prince” announced he was going to get married…The first thing that came to my mind was who is going to Pay for this Wedding. They are saying its going to be very big and very expensive. In a country with a suffering economy, they just raised the retirement age because the country is going broke..Tax dollars are going to be shelling out.
I just dont see just because you are born into something you are made King and Queen. Tradition? This is the Modern world.
In America this would never fly. Im so glad to be American where someone is not better then me, or has life taken care of by tax dollars because they came from a particular vagina. lol
WOW. Its not even my country and it kinda pisses me off lol
What say you?
Johnny the difference between is in America they are taking their parents wealth..Not TAX money
Jealous? I don’t think so
I actually feel pity for the people of the UK. Such a waist of money.

for the US economy. Last I checked the conversion rate was $2.02 to 1 BPS. I travel to the UK several times a month and wonder how much weaker the dollar will get and why it continues to slide. Any Economy majors out there that can help?
Sorry I meant AmericaN dollar.

I’m from the USA and the American economy is not in the best of shape, we have lots of wasted stimulus dollars and job market is weak right now in the states.
In Britain, the economy is probably in AWESOME shape, people are dancing to the beat of Gordon Brown, the GB Pound is way way way high, the Brits are having a blast playing football, playing jacks at the pubs, and living and laughing in those British red phone booths and listening to Blur….
Britain is paradise, shouldn’t I move out there?
I wanna say one of the most delightful flights I ever had was flying to London Heathrow on British airways…the nicest coach treatment ever, and the food was good

I rent items and want to be able to put a “security hold” on their credit card like a hotel does in case they break the items. It would be nice to also have the same service be able to accept credit card payments to be able to charge their rentals.

Obviously bonds are a relatively safe form of investment (particularly government bonds from one of the world’s major economies), but aside from this, what about the possibility of the value of bonds increasing?
With fears of recession looming, and deflation now a real possibility for the UK economy over the next couple of years, one could say that it is almost an inevitability that the BoE will further decrease interest rates. As bond prices are inversely proportional to interest rates, now would seem a logical time to invest in bonds, as it appears a safe bet the BoE will lower interest rates, which in turn will increase the value of bonds. Quite obviously, this rise in the value of bonds is of no benefit if the bonds are held till maturity. However, it would certainly appear to be advantageous to those willing to trade bonds. Is this train of thought correct?
Hi Robert M
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but if the bonds are held till maturity, the coupon (for fixed rate bonds) and principle payments are still the same, irrespective of whether or not the bond value (for trading) fluctuates. Therefore, if the bonds are held till maturity, the bond holder does not realise any benefit if the value of the bonds increase.

I’m new to credit cards.
I was always under the assumption that paying the full amount that you put on your credit card that month, at the end of every month (right before the due date) was the smart thing to do for your credit card. Which is exactly what I’ve been doing for the 5 or 6 months since I got my first card.
My friend told me she’d been told differently — that to leave a small portion of each month’s balance over and pay it off more slowly. She said this is good for your credit score.
So which is right? Thanks.
