With India and China growing at rapid rates (or catching up at rapid rates), America, the UK, etc are going to rapidly detorriate because of dwindling energy supplies.
Immigration is running amuck and all I hear is complaints about if Brown and Blair are going to send a bigger welfare check and fix the council housing? Man after Iraq I may have to move back to my Ancestral home and Kick some butt!

The NHS is clogged with a mass of bureaucracy and targets which are now self-defeating in their complexity and distraction from the basic principles of good organisation management and patient care. We need a change of culture in Whitehall and across the entire NHS which builds on the considerable skills and commitment of the best in the service. Until we do this I fear that Patricia Balsom’s wrenching experience will remain all too common.

Sir: My mum died of cancer earlier this year and from the initial diagnosis (which we had to pay for privately as her GP insisted her hoarse voice was a throat infection) to her death, the NHS failed her totally.
Few people now trust the system, however much faith they may have in individual clinicians or carers, because too often failures of co-ordination and basic teamwork lead to inadequate care coupled with mounting distress and anxiety. No one seems to know where the buck stops and, crucially, no one seems able to pick up on failures within the system and rectify them for an individual patient. Even the most assertive patient with an equally assertive GP will find it hard to discover a clear path through the labyrinth which is 21st-century patient care in the NHS.

In Highland, only 47.4 per cent of patients started cancer treatment within two months of being referred – the worst performance in Scotland.
One patient had to wait 132 days to start treatment.
“It is absolutely disgusting that people with serious conditions are being forced to wait for operations, whilst minor conditions are dealt with in an attempt to meet government targets.”
Dr Evan Harris, for the Liberal Democrats, said waiting time targets were a “blunt instrument”.
“Where there are maximum waiting time targets there will be an inevitable distortion of clinical priorities.
“There has to be an end to political interference with clinical decisions.”
I gather we need to take this off line. I doubt very much we can come to terms on this. It seems to me to be a destructive force. Socialism never worked unless more and more money gets pumped in. The Soviets only did “well” when they could rape the other Block Nations. Ranking the USA 37th has a lot of BS pumped in to the stats. when you match 340 Million people to places like canada 7 million. Even with NHS most rich Canadians fly or drive to the USA for faster service and when Major surgeries are needed! You can tax the rich more and more Like the UK but more and more UK companies are moving to the US or elsewhere. France is looking to turn the tide hense the Conservative election win. China is running towars capitalism faster than anyone to offset the collapse forthcoming from years of socialism. throwing More money at problems does not work. You can either work for the food and eat it or beg for scraps. Soialism can never work.
