I will be graduating soon with about 20k in student loans. I also have about 10k in credit card debt. Is there any way to lump it all together?
What method is used to calculate the monthly finance charge for the 1st major credit card?
I was looking at a card and it said it had a finance charge of 50 cents. Is that a charge every time i use the card or on my monthly bill. Cuz if that is everytime that seems like a bit of money. hypothetically lets say you use your card to buy common items everyday, twice a day you would ring up $30 a month in finance charges and $360 a year, am i right or wrong?
I have $1,145 dollars on the card with an interest rate of 8.9%. What is the formula to calculate what my finance charge would be on that month? I am horrible at math, when I did it it came out to around $90 and if that is right then I will just take the money out of savings and pay it all off.
I am contemplating offering a credit card for a retail item example (bowflex card) which I believe is backed by HSBC… I have the money to back the card but am unsure of the licensing and regulation. I am in NY and I wanted to see if anyone on this board could point me in the right direction.

I recently ordered my credit report and noticed that I still have an open credit card account with a department store. I thought I cancelled this card a few years ago. I no longer have the account number. How do I close this account without the account number and have it removed from my credit card as an “open” account?

Is there a number or something I can call to get people to stop sending me credit card offers? I cant at least 5-10 credit cards offers a week, whether it’s mail or phone calls.

I want to pay off my credit cards because they are such high interest. I have late payments in my history, so I want to build up my credit again. Do I really need credit cards to do this? I hate the idea of owing money. I thought about getting a credit card, using it and then paying it off each month – but I was told that wouldn’t help my credit. What should I do?
