Why do black americans look better than black british?

Why do white british look better than white americans?

Why are Canadians so friendly and look exactally like Americans?

Why can someone tell the difference between an American and British person but can’t between Canadian and American?

Why do Canadians look so dry and say eh so much?

Why is the Canadian and British economy still doing well while America is slowly turning into a third world Country?

how can the UK call Russia and Canada second tier countries ?

Sunday, April 24th, 2011

Russia and Canada might have about 100 times more oil, both countries have more nuclear production and capability, both countries have economies about 60-70 larger than any other country they grouped them with. both countries export the same amount of products as the uk (about 460 billion dollars each country). Canada’s stock exchange is the same size as India’s and Australia’s combined.
the UK with 60 million people (less than 2 times Canada’s population) is running the world. it’s per capita wealth is the same as Canada’s, nominal gdp 65 percent bigger (Canada’s is just as much bigger than South Korea’s), same exports, more resources, more important trading partner of the US.
“Well strictly speaking Canada is a 2nd tier country, in terms of power. Because compared to the US, China, and Russia, Canada has a very low population”
south africa, saudi arabia, south korea are in the top tier countries and canada beats them all in almost every statistical category. the UK only has 60 million people population doesn’t have anything to do with it.
“In terms of world power, Canada is definitely a 2nd tier country(and I live in Canada). Russia isn’t.”
power is resources, economy, clout, market value, wealth per capita. ignoring population Canada matches Russia in all of those categories (it exports just as much if not more and has the second higher gdp per capita in the G8).
to be in the top tier a country has to be top 11. here is how Canada ranks in the main categories.

9th largest nominal gdp
9th most exports (same as UK and Russia). 2.6 times more exports than Australia.
2nd largest oil reserves
9th most billionaires
2nd largest nominal gdp per capita out of the 10 largest economies
1st in freshwater supply
7th largest market value of its fortune 2000 companies
74 % as much gold reserves as the UK.
Market value of it’s fortune 500 banks and insurance companies is larger than Spain’s.
1st in world’s production of uranium
8th in nuclear energy production, reactors (greater capability than China, UK, Spain, India).
the nuclear technology that started China, India, South Korea, Venezuela nuclear programs came from Canada.
“2nd tier in terms of power and influence.”

how is a country second tier when the country the rest of the world is dependent on trades more with it than it does with China and Japan ?
what about the second largest oil reserves ? oil alone got Saudi Arabia into the top tier.
what about candu reactors indicative of its nuclear capability ? it has scientists too (3 of the 7 best universities in the world outside of the US are in Canada)
What about being the 7th largest donator to the UN ?
“Canada lacks the military and the population to project its will worldwide”

what about Italy, South Africa, South Korea, Saudi Arabia ?
Canada can mask some of its deficiencies with the best nuclear technology in the world.
what about car production ? Canada was seventh for most of the last decade.

Why do people call Canada a socialist country?

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

The only thing semi-socialist about Canada is its health care system, in most other areas of the economy its as free-market capitalist and right-wing as the US, especially when compared to European countries like France, the UK, Holland, Spain, etc.

Why does Canada and Spain get ignored?

Sunday, February 20th, 2011

Spain isn’t even in the G20.
People ignore Canada until they find out it exports the same as the UK, has more oil than every country except one, has the same size economy as Brazil, Spain and Russia.

Atheists – Have you ever considered moving to Canada or the Uk in the light of the upcomming fundie movement?

Friday, February 11th, 2011

Just wondering if you guys don’t sometimes wonder if you should pack it up and leave. It is clear that the fundies are growing and their interference in politics are getting worse by the day.
This is the picture we are getting in the UK and other countries. People are stunned with the fundie society in the states and I think a lot of us fear that this could mean an ongoing war and a total collapse of the world economy etc.

Do you think the fear is purely media hype? Do you think it is real? Why do the outside world view America to be on a crazy religious path?

Would you consider moving?
Some people will probably laugh at your accent, but not really in the big cities. Only way up north.. LOL!

Why are British people more knowledgeable about Australia than they are about Canada?

Thursday, January 6th, 2011

Obviously both aCommonwealth countries with long histories of political and military ties with the UK, both are allies of the UK, both are English-speaking developed countries.

However:
- the UK is physically much closer to Canada than it is to Australia.
- Australia is significantly smaller than Canada, by land mass,
- Australia has a smaller population.
- Canada has a larger economy than Australia.
- Canada has higher per capita GDP than Australia.
- Canada is a G7 and G8 member, while Australia is not.

Given all this, why would British people know more about Australia than Canada? Sometimes it seems even that they know more about New Zealand than about Canada.

Many people in the UK seem to think (wrongly) that only Australia has aboriginal peoples, and that native tribes do not exist in significant numbers Canada (or the United States or elsewhere) and that they are not a major political influence/issue in these countries. Why is this? Why so much knowledge of Australia and so little about the larger Commonwealth nation of Canada?

I’ll also point out that many educated British people are unable to name even 3 Canadian cities (many can name only 1: Vancouver) while at the same time know many Australian cities.

Is there a reason for this?

Why are trying to re-invent the wheel? Just get the blueprints from Canada, UK, Germany, Taiwan, France?

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

U.S. is the only modern nation without a working national healthcare system, why re-invent the wheel. The overwhelming majority of Americans want national healthcare NOW! Tell congress to stop all the BS and shenanigans. Grassley, Baucus and the rest are holding up critical progress as our economy continues to plummet. Get real!
That is so true.

How can I get a business credit card despite bad credit rating in Canada?

Monday, December 27th, 2010

Help! I’m trying to start up a business and all I need is a $10k business credit card. But I have a bad credit rating and so far lenders insist I must have a strong co-signer. But I can’t get anyone to do this for me (long story) Any suggestions?
In answer to the first responder, it’s a self-employed business. I’m the only employee. It’s a long story but my personal financial mess is a combination of the high tech collapse (I’m an engineer) that has gone on 6 years, 3.5 years unemployed for myself. Plus, I have a medical condition. I finally made a bold move to get around the medical condition so I can start my own business, now all that is stopping me is a co-signer. I agree, it’s not an enviable position but I have no other choice. Is there any way to get a credit card without a co-signer when you have a bad credit rating?
