Major differences in the job opportunities with a degree in Finance compared to a degree in Accounting?
Say to get into the insurance industry, would finance or accounting be better?

To get into the insurance industry, either would be fine. As far as job opportunities, an accounting degree would be better. An accountant can get a Financial Analyst position but a Finance Major can’t get an accounting job.
Unless you know exactly what you want to do and a finance degree would work, I would go with accounting. It leaves a lot more opportunities available.
